FAQ

Which risk profile fits to my investment style?

You need to identify your investment goals, consistent with your lifestyle and personal needs. We will help you to:

  • Set your expected return targets
  • Learn your degree of risk tolerance
  • Set an investment horizon suited to your needs
  • Create a financial plan consistent with the above

Which portfolio manager would best fits my needs?

We select managers on a permanent basis; some are rejected, some are selected and some are kept in a "watch list".  We have clear rules concerning how often and how to select and we are disciplined in following them. The process is dynamic so our managers' selections change from time to time. We will be delighted to explain in person and in detail our methodology.

Which products will I use? What will be my risk?

We not only select managers who are good but managers whose investment styles or strategies are as different as possible of each other. This is the only way to obtain the needed diversification. Only by using these parameters will we be able, after our conversation with you,  to select the combination of managers who best fit your expected return and risk targets.

  • Which investment philosophy would you like to take into consideration?
  • Which risk orientation do you allow a portfolio manager to drive?
  • Which financial products may are not be integrated or selected?
  • Which portfolio manager's mix fits optimally to you?

How do we control the portfolio managers?

On a general basis we screen monthly all the managers and we run a more detailed analysis quarterly. The selected list is analyzed thoroughly at least every month or at any time that seems appropriate because of any change on the portfolio composition or market conditions. We check the following items:

  • Are the manager's investment goals reached?
  • Is the manager's risk profile stable?
  • Is the manager's product allocation consistent with the pre-defined goals?
  • Is the manager's correlation with the markets and with other managers adequate?
  • How does the manager anticipate or adapt to changes in the markets or the environment?

What is special about your Investment Consulting?

In three words: independence, method, discipline. As independent Portfolio Consultants we are not tied to any particular manager or Financial Institution. We have access to most of them but keep our distance. We select what we consider to be the best products based on our proprietary methodology. Additionally, our disciplined approach makes mistaken decisions less likely.

Keeping a broad database of markets and managers and routinely running risk, performance and correlation analysis of them is beyond the capability of most private investors. Our Investment Consulting does exactly that. It is the only way to make rational investment decisions in an objective and transparent way.
